Tour Blondeau

Probably built around 1465, the horseshoe-shaped Tour Blondeau boasts a fine vaulted ceiling with a central column.
It used to be called "Tour du Quarreau".
From here, beyond the moat, you could see the vast training ground of the Chevaliers de l’Arquebuse (the Knights of the Harquebus); its hall still exists facing Bastion Notre-Dame.
The Chevaliers' shooting competitions brought together the neighbouring companies in a great display of colourful costumes, and the winner was awarded the coveted title "Roi d'Oiseau" (King of the Bird) for a year.
As part of our guided tours, you will have a view of what might be the Remparts de Beaune, with their moat.
Visit Maison Bouchard Père & Fils. You can learn about the maison's great wines in the tasting cellar, which is open every day.
